Move #????

So last week marked our most recent move. We are now in the hotel lodging on post. Here's the thing; hotel living in case you didn't know WAY OVER RATED. I think it would be one thing if we were in a condo on a beach and sipping on some fruity umbrella drink, but trying to have a "normal" life while living in a room the size of our first apartment as a family is tiring. Only a week and a half. Only a week and a half. I feel like Dorothy and wish I could just click and we'd be there.

At least this place has English TV and a grill. Both of which we use :)

We continue to explore and are thankful for a hoopty that gets us around and a GPS that speaks English. We committed to living minimally while over here, but every time we are out in the culture we say to each other, man an iPhone with a translator app would be nice right now. So...that may have to fit in to our "minimal" living.

Eric continues to explore the beer culture of Germany. Our most recent trip was to a place that has been in existence since 745 A.D. and has been brewing beer since 1045 A.D. Madisen and I enjoyed the weather, the green, and the flowers. I'm sure Eric enjoyed all of that too, he's quite the rock skipper, but I think he was in it for the beer.

Easter was beautiful here. We made it to Sunrise service :) All of us on time and NO arguments about moving fast enough. All I had to do was tell Madisen she was getting to wear her "pretty dress" and she was wide awake. We were able to get in a great meal with new friends and two Easter egg hunts.

This postings tips....PACK LIGHT. No really, I'm glad that I packed what I packed for Madisen, but that's about it. She had one suitcase of toys and one of clothes. I will NEVER ever travel with that many bags ever again. Not only is it a pain to maneuver everywhere, it took us multiple trips to move because the bags didn't fit in to our car. Also the last tip is this. In Germany if it looks sweet, it might not be. I am amazed by the pastries, and desserts here. And usually they don't quite feed this crazy sugar hungry American's sweet tooth. Sometimes I think....not worth the Euros I just spent on that. Oddly enough, I keep trying them.

As for me and Little Birdie (LB is what we call the baby, we needed to think of something gender neutral and well Madisen would have called if Princess), well we seem to have come to a mutual agreement. This pregnancy will be a lot easier on the both of us if He/She would stop with the crazy sickness. So far this discussion I had seems to be working. I'm not sure Eric would agree with that (sense of smell is still a kicker), but for the most part the all day sickness seems to be gone.

Missing the states and some of the conveniences there, but man my mom is a rock star. If you move overseas, I hope each of you is fortunate to have a mom like mine. She doesn't let me miss out on too many things from home:)

We are headed out to enjoy the sun and the green. It really is beautiful here. Ciao.
